CSC's National Cancer Survivors Day Was A Huge Success - Thank YOU!

On Sunday, June 7, 2015 Cancer Support Community Benjamin Center held its 80's themed National Cancer Survivors Day & Benjamin Birthday Bash. We had a fantastic turn out! Thank you to all those who came to show us your support. We will be emailing a link to all the photos from the event next week. View a few fun photos on our Facebook page. A heartfelt "thank you" to both our CSC Board Chair, Pat Kennedy for providing the DJ who kept us dancing and CSC Board Member, Dr. Janice Lu for sponsoring the event. Local bakery Jamaica's Cakes generously donated two cakes for the celebration. Delicious food and refreshments were generously provided by Veggie Grill, Native Foods and Trader Joe's. Thank you all! Thursday, May 14, 2015 Cancer Support Community Benjamin Center held its Gilda Award Gala at the Intercontinental Los Angeles benefiting its free services for people with cancer and their families. Thank you to all those who came to show us your support! We honored these three incredibly inspiring honorees! GILDA Award: Tig Notaro - Grammy Award-nominated stand-up comedian, writer & breast cancer survivor.  The Gilda Award was presented by Sarah Silverman, two time Emmy award winner, comedian and actress. Wellness Award: YAS Fitness Centers, Kimberly Fowler & Sherri Rosen. Presented by Ann Benjamin, CSCBC Vice-Chair and founders' Harold & Harriet Benjamin's daughter. Harold H. Benjamin Innovation Award: Dr. Mitch Golant, national psycho-social research pioneer. Presented by Dr. Deane Wolcott, Director of Oncology Supportive Care Services with Cedars-Sinai's Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute.
