Thursday, May 14, 2015 Cancer Support Community Benjamin Center held its Gilda Award Gala at the Intercontinental Los Angeles benefiting its free services for people with cancer and their families. Thank you to all those who came to show us your support!

We honored these three incredibly inspiring honorees!

  • GILDA Award: Tig Notaro - Grammy Award-nominated stand-up comedian, writer & breast cancer survivor.  The Gilda Award was presented by Sarah Silverman, two time Emmy award winner, comedian and actress.
  • Wellness Award: YAS Fitness Centers, Kimberly Fowler & Sherri Rosen. Presented by Ann Benjamin, CSCBC Vice-Chair and founders' Harold & Harriet Benjamin's daughter.
  • Harold H. Benjamin Innovation Award: Dr. Mitch Golant, national psycho-social research pioneer. Presented by Dr. Deane Wolcott, Director of Oncology Supportive Care Services with Cedars-Sinai's Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute.

Thanks to our wonderfully charismatic emceee, Fritz Coleman, Weathercaster for NBC4 Southern California!

Come mingle and have fun at our 80's themed dance party to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day and the Benjamin Center's birthday. A DJ, refreshments and cake will be provided - all that's needed is YOU! Bring your friends and family to celebrate survivorship and a photo of you in 1982 to add to our event photo collage! Make it even more fun by dressing up in your favorite 80's attire! There will be Best Costume and Best Time Capsule Photo prizes to be won!
