CSC Welcomes New BOD Member Michael D. McClain
Michael D. McClain is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of McClain/Galinsky, a retained executive search firm with practice areas in the Healthcare Services, Not-For-Profit, and Higher Education industries. Mr. McClain previously opened the Los Angeles, California office of Battalia Winston, where he was a Partner for twelve years. Prior to joining Battalia Winston, Mr. McClain started the West Coast operations for DHR International, a top-five retained search firm, where he was EVP/Managing Director of the Los Angeles, California office. He has 30 years of experience in executive search and possesses extensive recruiting and consulting expertise. Mr. McClain is a member of the UCLA Extension, Dean's Advisory Board, President of the Advisory Board of the Venice Family Clinic, and President of the Advisory Board of Special Spirit, an equine therapy riding stable for autistic and special needs children. He is also an Advisory Board member of The Teen Project. Mr. McClain previously served as Chairman and President of the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and was a member of the Field Operations Committee for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International. His past Board appointments also include the Advisory Board of Discovery Eye Foundation, President of the Advisory Board of The Jeffrey Foundation, a school for autistic and disadvantaged children, and was a Board of Trustees member of the Center for Healthy Aging. A native of Oakland, Iowa, Mr. McClain holds a Bachelor's Degree from Drake University. He has two children and resides in Los Angeles, California. CSC's National Cancer Survivors Day Was A Huge Success - Thank YOU!

On Sunday, June 7, 2015 Cancer Support Community Benjamin Center held its 80's themed National Cancer Survivors Day & Benjamin Birthday Bash. We had a fantastic turn out! Thank you to all those who came to show us your support. We will be emailing a link to all the photos from the event next week. View a few fun photos on our Facebook page. A heartfelt "thank you" to both our CSC Board Chair, Pat Kennedy for providing the DJ who kept us dancing and CSC Board Member, Dr. Janice Lu for sponsoring the event. Local bakery Jamaica's Cakes generously donated two cakes for the celebration. Delicious food and refreshments were generously provided by Veggie Grill, Native Foods and Trader Joe's. Thank you all! RSVP required: Call 310-314-2555 or Click here! Come mingle and have fun at our 80's themed dance party to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day and the Benjamin Center's birthday, founded in 1982. A DJ, refreshments and cake will be provided - all that's needed is YOU! Bring your friends and family to celebrate survivorship and a photo of you in 1982 to add to our event photo collage! Make it even more fun by dressing up in your favorite 80's attire! There will be Best Costume and Best Time Capsule Photo prizes to be won!
